BB8Charley

Those were the words that accompanied Charley as she entered the big brother house 7 weeks ago. Those are also the words that accompanied Charley as she returned to the house after a fake eviction.

We love to boo, and now it is very rare that a housemates gets any cheers. It is just the way it goes I guess (deal with it). I like to think that I do not like such information getting to the housemates, it does kinda ruin the illusion with the housemates knowing the public’s reaction. Though I did love it when Grace last year heard her “Get Grace Out” during Susie’s entrance.

Does it ruin the fun or add to the interactivity for the crowd? It is true that the chants during evictions and over the wall do stir the house up a bit, and the game is a popularity contest. Yet I wouldn’t want a housemate to leave because of such chants. On the other hand the crowd are a big part of the eviction process, but I think their interaction should wait till the housemate eventually leaves.

It does look like she will be gone tonight though. Whilst I was supportive during the initial hatred for her and anger on the message boards regarding BB as The Charley Show every night, her time to leave has come. It has been enjoyable seeing her get into extreme arguments and her “I’m not being funny but, I’m not being nasty but, I’m just being honest, you’re all just a bunch of arseholes” comments. Now her arguments are so frequent and petty, the whole house is pussy-footing around, and even if they are not meaning to, changing the way they behave because of the atmosphere.

She does come across as a nasty person, she gets personal once the real point of the argument is lost, shouting “you’re breath stinks, you’re boring, you’re ugly etc etc”. Occasionally there is a nice side to her, but it is rare to see.

Channelle is getting on my tits, her tantrum about the violin was ridiculous and her and Ziggy’s relationship is dull (though it was suggested they shagged last night). At this stage I see Brian winning, maybe Carole. Liam is nice enough and has his moments but the rest of the time he is playing with the other non-descript housemates (copping a feel more like). Gerry is dull and also starting to grate. He seems to think that his intelligence (2 degrees, no job) means more and is constantly trying to prove his knowledge and maturity. And he talks to his stuffed toy (a monkey called Freddie that he dresses up and apparently takes out to clubs and stuff) which is strange for a sex fiend. The twins are boring, BB doesn’t even show their nominations anymore as they are repeatedly for Carole and Tracey. In an argument they just sit and watch, and their playtime is childish (shouting bogeys and sting ring as loud as they can, or play fighting in the pool (getting groped by Liam))

Ummm who else, Tracey is not being great either, a bit grumpy and repetitive, not the cheesy quaver bouncy character we saw in the auditions (give her some drugs dammit)

So Charley out and six more in (though it is rumored that one has pulled out leaving five to go in). I hope we see the house next door, which has had various degrees of success in the past. Last years secret tunnel was great, but trying to hide the housemates never works as they are constantly screaming. It has been said that the original housemates will be fully informed of the new housemates and the house, and at the given time they will have to pick a selection to move into the real house returning the others back to the real world.

I think the house needs a bit of life, and I would like to see them uncurl a bit when Charley leaves. Which we still may see if they use the HND.

The loss of Charley will effect the show, I just hope it’s for the better or we are subjected to the dullness of the wallflowers.

A pissed off Sam this morning. Put the recycling out last night and when I left the house this morning, someone has dumped a box full of un-recyclable shit (old plates, chip fryer, cutlery etc) on top my my box.

But someone (perhaps the same person) took a fancy to our blue Southwark Council paper recycling bag, and tipped all the contents out onto the pavement and stole it. And there was quite a lot of contents because i had a good clearout at the weekend. I sincerely hope that they didn’t steal it because they wanted to recycle, cos my mind would really strugle with the point. But what a shit thing to do. Fuckheads. Grrrrr

And then i get on the 35 bus and there is a group of kids at the back playing their mobile phone music really loud, and then they start rapping along with it. It wasn’t long before i put my book away and plugged my ipod in to drown out the noise.

A perfect way to start the day.

On the off chance, I thought I would post this here. The design studio I work for are looking to expand the online area (currently only myself being the webhead)

We are looking for an all rounder, with slight a leaning towards developer. Full details can be found here

If you know anyone, let me know. Thanks

BB8

So my last post was goodbye Seany, and since then we have lost Billi and Laura to evictions and Jonathan had to leave due to his grandmother of 104 passing away.

Glad to see both Billi and Laura go, neither wee key housemates, Billi was bit of a shit stirrer and sneaky. Laura was lazy and miserable. On launch night Laura was one of my favorites, perhaps something to with her looking like Matt Lucas. But she quickly became dull with a bit of sharp edge. Stirring things and then running off and watching the arguments that followed.

Then on her eviction we (and the housemates) see “Pauline” being told she is to be transferred from Big Brother Australia to the UK. But then it was revealed that she was a british actress called Thaila. I haven’t seen her in anything but my friend instantly recognised her from Balls of Steel.

(if you don’t want to spoil wednesdays show stop reading now and check back after)

I think she has done a good enough job, she did get through the time in the house without being rumbled and had some fun along the way. Yes it would have been interesting to see her try to get off with Ziggy or start snoggin the boys (or girls) but she is a person not a prostitute…. though prostitutes are people to I guess.

She has now left the house after Brian was told by BB that she was an actress and not to tell anyone. Later they were given a task of lining up the housemates in order of “fakeness”. Brian stepped in to put Pauline at the front any by doing so they one the shopping task.

There has always been speculation of a mole in all the most recent seasons, and it was good to finally have one. Might have been better to tone it down a bit for a real mole rather than having to be a fake person and work hard on keeping that character rather performing the tasks given by BB.

I am more excited about Friday’s show. Where one of the nominated housemate will be evicted, interviewed and then put back in the house. It is highly likely it will be Charley, which will cause some fireworks (I hope). It would have been a tougher decision if Channelle was also up, I think she is very childish and would have taken her housemates reasons for nominating her totally the wrong way. We are still unclear if the housemates get to watch the interview as said by Davina, or if the point is for the evictee to see what the others say about her and then throw her back in (as written on the C4 site)

I hope it isn’t Nicky, I don’t think she react enough, she seems head-strung to know what the deal is, that it’s a game and people will say bad things about each other, that’s the point.

We shall see.

Love this. A children’s book showing the “honest” way babies are made.

Highlights include the doctor with a hammer or a trumpet, the pigtail and of course the happy arrival.

This is the story of my “summer” holiday…. well not really a story as there is very little to tell. We have been having shit weather, really shit. Our trip to South Brittany turned out to be five days in Cherbourg and seven in Guernsey. Every day wind wind wind, which being on a boat you are always aware of, mainly due to all the masts and ropes in the marina that whistle and rattle exaggerating the sound. But this year there needed to be little exaggeration, it was just plain old windy…. oh and rain, we had our fair share of that as well. We didn’t leave the boat once without a coat on… well I braved it once but didn’t make it onto the land before the peer pressure of the others to go back and get one.

The trip was supposed to be three boats, but the smallest turned back shortly after setting off as it was too rough (it was rough for us so they must have been bashed about a bit). I have since left the boat but the trinity finally met up yesterday in Guernsey, two weeks after setting off with each other from Portsmouth.

So we occupied ourselves with the local attractions such as bowling, go karting and eating, and hosted many a movie night on our laptops. We had wireless internet access in both marinas, which was a blessing from heaven, as at least we could acquire movies and such (big brother)

But in a nutshell, it was not a great holiday, I relaxed I guess and it was good company, but as the wind howled all day and night for two weeks there was always a slight sense of dread that we would have to sail the next day in churned up seas and rain.

But it was all too rough. I flew home from Guernsey in a twin prop plane, which was a little exciting. I am sad to say that I didn’t take one picture, there were some moments where I would have been tempted to use the long exposure of the rain at night, but when your on a rocking boat everything just becomes a blur. Ho hum.

Maybe next year.

It sucks cos holiday is so precious, I worked six months for those two weeks, oh well best not ponder over it.

Here is my first major play with Live, mainly seeing what it can do and how to mix up different types of music. Tempted to finish and polish (the end is a bit of a mess (aka lame)) but will pref to take what i have learned from it and do something else. There are some nice touches and some things that work, and others that don’t

Enjoy
