Amusing, irritating and infectious

Saw sundays BB and it has some quality moments, Tracey getting twatted, Kara’s loose tongue, but the real lols came with Brian and this word task.

(also this is my first youtube video post, how exciting, the process was pretty easy, uploaded a 10mb mov, not sure what will come out of the other side though)

Carole

Judging by the frequency of my BB posts, this may be my penultimate entry.

It has been a bit of a struggle recently, as usual all the bg characters get voted out of the show early on, so you are left with the stragglers. People who don’t really do too much and therefore give fellow housemates little to nominate them for and last till the end. Remember Anthony from BB6? He was a total waste of space, and his win, a low point in BB. Dare the twins take his title as the most unworthy housemate? It could be. I do not dislike the twins, but they have not been very entertaining. Though they have been coming out a bit in the past week, but if they win they will be a spitting image of them as they entered the house. Holding hands and whooping all the time. The interview will be dull as they have not really achieved anything, grown up or apart, no changes, just more whooping, squealing and tedious chat “defo, love it, party, cringe, whoo!”.

The only worthy winners would be Brian or Carole. Brian because he has been one of the more entertaining housemates, and Carole because she has been a moany bitch, but also does show funny sides… and let face it, is not your typical wannabe big brother winner as i can’t see Nuts magazine running to sign her up (though maybe the Daily Sport, remember Lizzie Bardsley from early Wife Swap).

I don’t like Ziggy, maybe its because of his crap conversational skills, or for just being a plum. Liam is ok, but he is only ok, nothing special. Tracey has done well to get this far but it too shut off from the house to be “our” champion of BB8. Jonty is weird and Kara is too fresh, though even if she went in in week one she would end up as a fifth or six week evictee.

Time will tell.

I am a little disappointed at the pool extension, I was expecting another house behind the pool (saw early construction pics showing the pool extend into the house, so knew something was happening) but no it was a puny little bar. Is there going to be a loft? Davina made a reference to the target being of importance and again on plans there was a spiral staircase.

It looks like the contestant to be voted in by the public via a youtube style website where anyone can apply seems to have fizzled. I remember this being announced a while before the show started in a similar vain to last years golden ticket. (I do feel i repeat myself something regarding BB, have a feeling I have typed “last years golden ticket before)

Anyway, its on now, so better go watch.

Have fun

BB8Charley

Those were the words that accompanied Charley as she entered the big brother house 7 weeks ago. Those are also the words that accompanied Charley as she returned to the house after a fake eviction.

We love to boo, and now it is very rare that a housemates gets any cheers. It is just the way it goes I guess (deal with it). I like to think that I do not like such information getting to the housemates, it does kinda ruin the illusion with the housemates knowing the public’s reaction. Though I did love it when Grace last year heard her “Get Grace Out” during Susie’s entrance.

Does it ruin the fun or add to the interactivity for the crowd? It is true that the chants during evictions and over the wall do stir the house up a bit, and the game is a popularity contest. Yet I wouldn’t want a housemate to leave because of such chants. On the other hand the crowd are a big part of the eviction process, but I think their interaction should wait till the housemate eventually leaves.

It does look like she will be gone tonight though. Whilst I was supportive during the initial hatred for her and anger on the message boards regarding BB as The Charley Show every night, her time to leave has come. It has been enjoyable seeing her get into extreme arguments and her “I’m not being funny but, I’m not being nasty but, I’m just being honest, you’re all just a bunch of arseholes” comments. Now her arguments are so frequent and petty, the whole house is pussy-footing around, and even if they are not meaning to, changing the way they behave because of the atmosphere.

She does come across as a nasty person, she gets personal once the real point of the argument is lost, shouting “you’re breath stinks, you’re boring, you’re ugly etc etc”. Occasionally there is a nice side to her, but it is rare to see.

Channelle is getting on my tits, her tantrum about the violin was ridiculous and her and Ziggy’s relationship is dull (though it was suggested they shagged last night). At this stage I see Brian winning, maybe Carole. Liam is nice enough and has his moments but the rest of the time he is playing with the other non-descript housemates (copping a feel more like). Gerry is dull and also starting to grate. He seems to think that his intelligence (2 degrees, no job) means more and is constantly trying to prove his knowledge and maturity. And he talks to his stuffed toy (a monkey called Freddie that he dresses up and apparently takes out to clubs and stuff) which is strange for a sex fiend. The twins are boring, BB doesn’t even show their nominations anymore as they are repeatedly for Carole and Tracey. In an argument they just sit and watch, and their playtime is childish (shouting bogeys and sting ring as loud as they can, or play fighting in the pool (getting groped by Liam))

Ummm who else, Tracey is not being great either, a bit grumpy and repetitive, not the cheesy quaver bouncy character we saw in the auditions (give her some drugs dammit)

So Charley out and six more in (though it is rumored that one has pulled out leaving five to go in). I hope we see the house next door, which has had various degrees of success in the past. Last years secret tunnel was great, but trying to hide the housemates never works as they are constantly screaming. It has been said that the original housemates will be fully informed of the new housemates and the house, and at the given time they will have to pick a selection to move into the real house returning the others back to the real world.

I think the house needs a bit of life, and I would like to see them uncurl a bit when Charley leaves. Which we still may see if they use the HND.

The loss of Charley will effect the show, I just hope it’s for the better or we are subjected to the dullness of the wallflowers.

So my last post was goodbye Seany, and since then we have lost Billi and Laura to evictions and Jonathan had to leave due to his grandmother of 104 passing away.

Glad to see both Billi and Laura go, neither wee key housemates, Billi was bit of a shit stirrer and sneaky. Laura was lazy and miserable. On launch night Laura was one of my favorites, perhaps something to with her looking like Matt Lucas. But she quickly became dull with a bit of sharp edge. Stirring things and then running off and watching the arguments that followed.

Then on her eviction we (and the housemates) see “Pauline” being told she is to be transferred from Big Brother Australia to the UK. But then it was revealed that she was a british actress called Thaila. I haven’t seen her in anything but my friend instantly recognised her from Balls of Steel.

(if you don’t want to spoil wednesdays show stop reading now and check back after)

I think she has done a good enough job, she did get through the time in the house without being rumbled and had some fun along the way. Yes it would have been interesting to see her try to get off with Ziggy or start snoggin the boys (or girls) but she is a person not a prostitute…. though prostitutes are people to I guess.

She has now left the house after Brian was told by BB that she was an actress and not to tell anyone. Later they were given a task of lining up the housemates in order of “fakeness”. Brian stepped in to put Pauline at the front any by doing so they one the shopping task.

There has always been speculation of a mole in all the most recent seasons, and it was good to finally have one. Might have been better to tone it down a bit for a real mole rather than having to be a fake person and work hard on keeping that character rather performing the tasks given by BB.

I am more excited about Friday’s show. Where one of the nominated housemate will be evicted, interviewed and then put back in the house. It is highly likely it will be Charley, which will cause some fireworks (I hope). It would have been a tougher decision if Channelle was also up, I think she is very childish and would have taken her housemates reasons for nominating her totally the wrong way. We are still unclear if the housemates get to watch the interview as said by Davina, or if the point is for the evictee to see what the others say about her and then throw her back in (as written on the C4 site)

I hope it isn’t Nicky, I don’t think she react enough, she seems head-strung to know what the deal is, that it’s a game and people will say bad things about each other, that’s the point.

We shall see.

Yes he was a bit of a dick, but was still more enjoyable to watch than Carole. He pranks did go a bit far sometimes, but his energy brought quite a lot to the house. Was laughing at the hypocrisy of Charley crying when he left, when she is one of the many who nominated him.

We have learned that Brian didn’t know of Romeo and Juliet or even Shakespear. It’s quite shocking that in his 20 or so years on this earth he has never come across either. And he wet the bed, how embarrassing, granted it could have genuinely have been the first time since being a child, but still to have that publicised in such a way must be pretty humiliating.

Oh well. An insomina task now (am still a day behind) should be fun, certainly some of them won’t be able to hack it, whether or not the stronger ones manage to keep them awake should be fun.

That’s it for now, and maybe a few days.

Au revoir

BB8

Well it has been an interesting couple of weeks, 6 new boys, 1 less wannabe, £100,000 and an eviction (though have yet to find out who)

I like the new housemates, well… ish, Seany is a bit of a cock, though i think he gets a little carried away and that is his problem, ripping the duvet off Lesley was not a good move. And it was a final straw for her so she walked, she was okay to watch for a bit, but wasnt really big brother material so no major loss.

Then Shabanabanam, not sure if you have seen it but she also went on Britains Got Talent, her talent being “tv presenting”. That girl really is desperate, yet has no talent, she is deluded a bit to think that she can make it just “being herself”. Didn’t understand the boos and kept telling the crowd “I’m fun”. No Shabanabanam, you’re not. And that dance was awful, a big cringe moment. I hope that she understands now, why she was nominated, evicited and booed. For her sake. I don’t want to smash the girls dreams to the floor saying that she will never make it. But she needs to do more that say “im fun” and a crappy dance, perhaps she does that dance with her friends and they all laugh at her, thus she thinks that all she has to do for people to like her.

I will put my claws away now, I hope she got what she wanted from the show, though I can’t see her doing much, other than a topless shoot for Nuts or similar mags.

Gerry is nice, and adds a touch of fun. Laura is a miserable moaning cow. Carole is boring me, and should really go (she is who i voted for) all she does is moan about the housework and her towel and gets too upset about small things. She doesn’t bring any fun to the house and will always withdraw herself from the group if she doesn’t like the way things are going. She moans about doing all the washing, but in the first week volunteered to do everyones washing.

New boys, Brian is great, a bit dippy and entertaining with it. Liam is ok, quite sweety, and he got the £100,000 and cried (bless), but other than that hasn’t done too much. Jonathon, the millionare, he can be a bit harsh when he doesn’t need to and is taking the “dad’ role, when there doesn’t need to be one, and this is making the others resent him. Ummm, oh and Billy, he is a bit of a cock, i don’t like him, but like that he fancies Channelle and is stiring things up a bit with Ziggy.

Think thats is. Oh Charley, the past few HL shows (highlight) she has been great, the hair pulling thing was hilarious, and it seems she has chilled out a bit, more boys certainly contributes to this, and it seems she doesn’t have to be queen bee with all the girls any more. Don’t get me wrong, she can still be a nasty bitch, but even when being nasty is great to watch. And thats what they are there for.

Still no winners yet, Liam or the Twins, just because there is a risk that the dull ones win (remember Anthony??)

How exiting, im not gonna be seeing much BB on my travels, only when adequate wireless in the marinas will i be able to get hold of it. But its still pretty special when i can… just the simplicity of having tv on demand, god bless the internet.

One particular word in this case. Emily’s use of the word was unfortunate. She didn’t use it in a derogatory sense or in anger, she was using it as street slang as seen in many movies and all the time in music. Firstly Charley overreacted, she kept saying not talk about it, but then every second she kept bringing it up, even when the conversation was finished and they were onto something else she would blurt “I still can believe you said that”. And then go into a group of people who knew nothing of it and started to talk in riddles to people that did know about it baiting the others to question what they were talking about.

Though with all this, she did seem genuinely shocked, not offended, but shocked.

I don’t believe that Emily refers to her black friends as “niggers” all the time, so it was strange that she said it. She is hardy very street, and is also the one who stated that “there is a new type of music sweeping the country called indie”

She is has been removed from the house, apparently there were 900 complaints to C4 that she shouldn’t have been removed against 100 complaints about the word. C4 did the right thing, after this years CBB issues with 40,000 people complaining (many fueled by the media, and many from the thousands of active BB fans on the forums) C4 could hardly let this slip. C4 were told off for not intervening and for show the arguments without proper warning before broadcast.

They couldn’t risk another media beating from the red tops and politicians about how they are encouraging racism, and not dealing with racist issues in the house. If we didn’t have the Shilpa incident then I do not believe they would have booted Emily out. After all, Jade was persecuted for say “popadom”

A friend pointed out Victor from BB5 used to say nigger all the time, yet he wasn’t punished, it wasn’t even an issue.

But in the watchful eye of the public and media just waiting for BB to slip up once more, C4 has no choice but to take very strong action and to be seen and no tolerating any such language.

Oh well, I didn’t like Emily very much anyway. Even though I think Shabanabanam is very weird and deluded.

Other events, Ziggy seems to be getting pissed off with all the “girly bollox” and what a lot of girl bollox there is. Mainly from Channel who was crying in the diary room “it’s not my fault my hair has a natural curl” (stupid girl) and then getting extremely aggressive and angry over the prospect of BB confiscating her boots.

The twins are completely non-existant, you almost don’t notice there dullness as they walk around and sit with the others. The only thing they seem to do is to watch themselves in the mirror working on their silly acts. Do they even speak, or just sing?

Tracey amused me with her diary room rave, though her arguments are a bit shite, ending in “I’m Trace, thats the who I am”

Lesley made me laugh with her “I’m sniffing my mattress” comment, of all the excuses to use for having a little cry, that has to be one of the best.

Carole seems a bit too mumsey, wanting to make household duties priority. Nicky had potential, Laura is nice, though not sure how far being nice gets you in this game. I do like Charley, she is good to watch and is very expressive.

Two guys going in tonight, rumors are a gay guy and a bi guy, we shall see.

BB8

It is here. BB8.

I love Big Brother. It (as I usually quote) is my world cup. I get pretty excited and enjoy being swept away in the weeks leading up to the launch. The rumors and gossip on the many forums, the first looks at the house, the new eye, the first time your see the flash between adverts on channel4.

I love the house. That chair is great, looks pretty uncomfortable but visually it’s stunning. The construction pics I have seen look like the pool goes indoors, but this isn’t revealed yet (and may not happen) but in other aerial pics you can see a second garden, so there is some sort of second house.

The layout of the kitchen is sweet as well, no water taps in the kitchen, oven in the bedroom, fridge outside. Obvious cause of tension, but also comedy, and as cooking is something the housemates do quite a bit of, it splits the footage up from everyone sitting round the kitchen.

So last night we saw 11 girls go into the house. A decent mix, the twins are priceless (and i can’t wait to see them crack). Other favs are the Welsh girl who looks like Matt Lucas (but she does look loverly), I quite like the raver Tracey, with few too many dolly birds it will be good to show them you don’t have to obsessed with shopping and makeup to be a woman. The big protester Carole again looks a little interesting, but not for long. But it is soooo early, I will almost certainly change my judgment a million times before the season ends.

But more importantly, where are the men? Not that I look to BB for eye candy (dyed bedhead boys in fcuk do not float my boat) but I can’t see the show working with only women for 13 weeks. That’s why I’m sure it will change and some way they will balance out the sexes. And with that self-reassurance it looks promising.

The usual first week dynamics usually pan out with the fit boys talking about which one of the fit girls they fancy and the same with the girls (with added suitcase squealing). Then they pair off and lay around for a while. Often the girlies get evicted first, so maybe they are building the characters more before they throw in the guys and let the teenies pick their favorites.

One guy is going in on Friday. Should be entertaining at least to see how he reacts, perhaps thinking he is going into a new house with other new housemates. I am hoping that they will make something more of the hnd (house next door) and perhaps have two main houses. Then we evict 5 girls, put six in the hnd. Then 11 boys come in, the girls get to play with the boys through Big Brother, then some 5 boys go and we have out house.

But who can say, again this is something i enjoy with BB, the not knowing, and anticipation of it all.

And with that note im gonna go watch BBLB before BB later tonight (i do hate the amoutn of house this show takes out of my weeks, oh well Desperate Housewives is gone (love the ending on that) and Lost also, so that two hours of crap I can fill with possibly crappier crap.

Yay!

kebab

Well Jade has gone, not surprising, but she did only get 82% of the votes, which is high, but Sleazer last year got 92%.

I was a bit pissed off that we were denied out eviction, she could hadle the boos. I feel the whole racism thing is way out of control, and now just a press story, it has no substance. She said some silly things, that technically were rasicit, but she didnt have issues with Shilpa becuase she was Indian. And why wasnt Jermaine picked up on saying that he was glad “someone else of colour” was in the house?

It’s a twisted world. I thought Jade handeld herself well in the interview and I also think this isnt the end of her career. And when Shilpa gets out and I’m sure they will do some sort of joint interviews together. There is even talk of a bollywood movie with Jade and Shilpa in it.

Ho hum. At the moment i am enjoying watching Dirk be grumpy. Am a day behind at the moment, been watching the two Pirates movies. Might catch up tonight.

The show has been lacking evictions, but i guess thats cos so many people have walked or escaped.

Ho hum
